#BOSSBABES | AN 11-71 UPDATE

We are now at the point in our business where we are someone’s boss! To us, that is a bit crazy, but also a major accomplishment. Over the past two years we have done it all - finding product, unpacking and tagging, running social media accounts, and striving to offer our customers great service and a positive shopping experience. There have been many learning curves and adjustments along the way. It wasn’t until we hired our employees we realized how desperately we needed the extra hands. There just aren’t enough hours in a day for us to do all the things we want to accomplish. We have big dreams and need help to achieve our goals. Our first hire in early March was Caitlyn Milette. She is our assistant manager and is doing an incredible job in her new role. We have also hired four part-time sales associates: Maddy Olson, Emily Franz, Megan Nemec, and Maria Vollom. We believe each one of these girls has something unique that they can bring to Eleven Seventy-One. We are very excited and proud of our team!

Even with the extra hands, there is still plenty of work for us to do! We plan to take a step back from the checkout counter and take a more prominent role in our office to dedicate time and energy to our online website. Our physical location has been our “baby” and we feel that our website needs some more love and care. We launched our website on March 20, 2017. As we enter our first anniversary, we see many areas to improve upon and ways to expand our reach. Online selling is a whole different game. You are literally competing against the entire internet world. We are confident that with additional time and attention we can make our website just as successful as our brick-and-mortar.

In February, we announced our Future Entrepreneur Scholarship for Falls High School and Littlefork-Big Falls High School graduating seniors. We are thrilled we can give back to a community that has supported our dreams. If we can be a small part for a future entrepreneur, we feel like we have succeeded. The scholarship winners will be announced at each school’s academic awards nights. One student from each school will be awarded $500 towards their schooling.

We are so thankful for the support of the Borderland. Without our loyal customers, we wouldn’t be where we are today. We are proud to represent young, female entrepreneurs and hope to continue to grow, evolve, and flourish!
